  • Up to 19 mayors from across London, as well as former Croydon mayors, attended the service on 24 February 2009. Outside Croydon Parish Church, mayoral crests could be seen on many of the cars.
  • Before the ceremony, a cadet got some help with his uniform.
  • Politicians also paid tribute to the young mayor, including MP Andrew Pelling, left...
  • ...and MP Richard Ottaway, left.
  • Current Mayor of Croydon Robert Askey, centre, waits to enter church.
  • Former Croydon Mayor Derek Millard and former Mayoress Bunty Millard paid their respects.
  • So did former Croydon Mayor Maggie Mansell...
  • ...and Police Commander Mark Gore.
  • But it was not only officials who remembered Croydon’s youngest ever mayor. War Veterans Fred Morton, Bert Smith and Frank Whitwood, who met Mr Driver at a Remembrance Day reception last year, also joined the mourners.
