AN inquisitive child from St Albans won a prize of £25 this week for her keen skills of investigation.
Catherine Ryan, aged nine, of Verulam Road, St Albans, who attends St Michael's Primary School in St Michael's Street, won her prize after locating bears hidden around the city.
Organised by the office of city centre manager Melvyn Teare, the children's competition was designed to encourage young people to get to know their city.
Pictures of bears were hidden in shops throughout St Albans and Catherine, a true detective, was one of only a handful of children to find all ten.
Catherine's first prize also included a musical Winnie the Pooh bear, which was presented to her family on Monday, August 27, during St Albans Carnival.
