TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
CROYDON COUNCIL PROPOSED 7.5 TONNE LORRY VAN IN CHICHESTER DRIVE, COPSE HILL, DOWNLANDS ROAD, GROVELANDS ROAD, MANOR WOOD ROAD, WOODCREST ROAD AND WOODSIDE ROAD, PURLEY

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council propose to make the Croydon (Prescribed Routes) (No.Z22) Traffic Order, 2008 under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
2. The general effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight from entering Chichester Drive, Copse Hill, Downlands Road, Grovelands Road, Manor Wood Road, Woodcrest Road and Woodside Road, Purley, except when requiring access to properties in those roads.
3. A copy of the proposed Order and of all related Orders, of the Council's statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of the plans which indicate each length of road to which the Order relates, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Order was made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at the Enquiry Counter, 'One-Stop' Facility, Ground Floor, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.
4. Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Planning and Transportation Department, Croydon Council on 020 - 8686 4433 ext 64906.
5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Services, Environment, Culture and Public Protection, 9th Floor, South West Side, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, CR9 1EN quoting the reference ECPP/PS/JGH/7/A22 by 28 May 2008.
6. The lorry ban is intended to restrict heavy goods vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight from entering the residential roads of Chichester Drive, Copse Hill, Downlands Road, Grovelands Road, Manor Wood Road, Woodcrest Road and Woodside Road, Purley, except for access. This will provide environmental benefits to the residents and remove higher polluting and noisy vehicles from the area.
