Motorists face a slow drive in to work this morning with an accident and a burst water main combining with thick mist on the roads.

Four cars were involved in a crash on the M25 shortly before 6.30am between junctions eight and nine clockwise.

The fourth lane was closed for about 30 minutes while the accident was cleared but traffic remains heavy.

A burst water main has closed the A215 Knights Hill northbound in the West Norwood one-way system.

Repair work is continuing and Transport for London is reporting no serious delays.

The Met Office says the mist or fog patches should gradually lift through the morning to leave a dry but mostly rather cloudy day.

There could be some bright spells, with light westerly winds and a maximum temperature of 9C.

Tonight should be dry but rather cloud, dropping to a minimum temperature of 3C.
