A pedestrian has been hit by a tram in Croydon this afternoon.
London Ambulance Service confirmed they had been called to the incident at about 12.30pm in London Road, West Croydon.
It is not clear the extent of the injuries to the pedestrian.
A Croydon police spokesman said the emergency services were called to a man trapped under a tram in Tamworth Road at 12.30pm.
"A male was trapped underneath a tram near to West Croydon station.
"Nearby junctions with Wellesley Road, London Road were closed off.
"London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, British Transport Police and Tramlink officials were also in attendance."
The air ambulance was also called but it is unclear whether the man was hospitalised.
The police spokesman said the man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing at this stage.
