Crystal Palace co-chairman Stephen Browett says no more first team players will be leaving Selhurst Park in the January transfer window.

After the departure of Wilfried Zaha to Manchester United, with an immediate loan back,  David Wright off to Colchester United and Kwesi Appiah on a month’s loan at Yeovil, speculation has been rife over the future of skipper Mile Jedinak.

Fans’ favourite Jedinak has been linked with former Palace boss Dougie Freedman at Championship rivals Bolton Wanderers, as well as Premier League Stoke City – who were reported to have had a £2.5m offer turned down.

However, Browett said: “No first team players will leave the club in this transfer window.

“Obviously, Jedinak is playing well at the moment and we would be surprised if there was no interest in him.

“But we will reject any interest that there is.”

Australian international Jedinak who was signed from Turkish football by Freedman in 2011, has caught the eye with his commanding perfomances in the middle of the park, while contributing two goals to the Eagles’s push for promotion.

Palace skipper Jedinak was happy to confirm his commitment to the Eagles promotion cause ahead of the big London derby on Saturday.

Midfielder and fans’ favourite Jedinak has been linked with former Palace boss Dougie Freedman at Championship rivals Bolton Wanderers, as well as Stoke City of the Premier League – who were reported to have had a £2.5million offer turned down.

However, the 28-year-old said he was focussed solely on the visit of Charlton Athletic to Selhurst Park on Saturday.

“I am at Palace, and I am absolutely happy at being here. As far as I know I am going to here and there is nothing going on at his stage,” Jedinak said.

Palace have picked up two wins in 10 League games since the start of December, and despite defeat at Huddersfield on Wednesday night, Jedinak is confident the tide will turn in the Eagles’ favour.

“I am sure we will turn it around, we’ve been playing in a positive way and if we can continue that then the results will start turning in our favour.

“Derbies can be a catalyst to turn things around. We’ve had a few this season and we’ve been on the end of some good results, so hopefully we can continue that form and kick-start the season.”

With boss Ian Holloway working hard to bring in more names, Jedinak is pleased with the new names already brought in.

Jedinak said: “Jazz Richards has been with us for a few days, you can see he is enthusiastic.

“He is a young fella but he has been around the Swansea set up for some time, so hopefully he can get settled in as soon as possible. I am sure he will be a fine asset.”

With only hours of the January transfer window remaining, the biggest transfer so far has seen Wilfried Zaha move to Old Trafford for a reported £15million, and then be immediately loaned back.

“It is a positive thing all round for everyone involved in the club, not just for Wilf,” Jedinak said.

“The attention has been intense, but now we can move on, we can put it all behind us and we’re just chuffed for him.

“He knows he has a job to do in the next six months, and I am sure he will be focussed on the job in hand.”
