Hercules Wimbledon's women's cross country runners finished their League season strongly taking fourth place in the final Max Sports Surrey Ladies League meeting at Denbies Vineyard, Dorking.

They were led in by marathon-running mum Claire Grima who was ninth in 36 minutes, 40 seconds. Amy Aronson was 16th in 37:52, Lisa Crow 26th in 38:49, Emma Henderson 24th in  40:04, and Francesca Clarke 67th in 42:15.

Best of the youngsters at Dorking was Zoe Illis who was eighth in the combined U15/U17 race in 16:38.

Hercules Wimbledon newcomer Theo Ettiene produced another outstanding run at an open indoor meeting at Crystal Palace when he won his 60m race in 7.00secs.

It was the third fastest time recorded by a UK under 17-year-old this season.

It improved on his previous best of  7.16 set at Crystal Palace last month.

He finished ahead of Hercules Wimbledon clubmate RichardAgyapong who also clocked a personal best of 7.09.

This weekend, Hercules Wimbledon's cross country runners compete in the South of England Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill Fields, north London, on Saturday, while the club's track and field athletes are in action in the Surrey indoor championships at Sutton Arena on Saturday and Sunday.

Hercules Wimbledon's track and field training sessions take place at Wimbledon Park athletics stadium on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 6.30pm and Sunday mornings at 10.30am. Further details from coaching coordinator Maurice Sharp on 020 8337 8707.
