It's been a bittersweet week for Dulwich Hamlet as the joy of reaching the League Cup final last Tuesday was tempered by their first league defeat since October on Saturday.

Dulwich needed penalties to see off Thamesmead Town in the cup, winning 5-3 after a 1-1 draw in normal time, to set up a final against Concord Rangers.

Daniel Carr had put Dulwich ahead but Rob Carter equalised for the Kent side to ensure spot kicks.

Carr, Peter Adeniyi, Erhun Oztumer and Ellis Green all scored for Dulwich before Thamesmead keeper Rob Budd struck the post, leaving academy player Richmond Ayoola to score the winning kick.

However, celebrations were short-lived as Hamlet's Ryman division One South promotion hopes took a battering at Eastbourne Town on Saturday.

A 2-0 defeat was their first in more than four months and saw them slip to third, five points behind leaders Maidstone United but with three games in hand before tonight's match with Walton & Hersham.

They go to play-off chasing Ramsgate on Saturday.
