Brentford have boosted their squad with two additions at differing ends of the football experience spectrum this week.
Swindon Town captain Alan McCormack, 29, has made the switch to Griffin Park on a free transfer and brings with him almost 300 games’ worth of Football League experience.
At nine years his junior, the Bees’ other signing, George Saville, could not be a bigger contrast after joining on a six-month loan from Chelsea.
Brentford’s sporting director Mark Warburton said: “Alan was captain of a strong Swindon Town team last season and he clearly displayed excellent leadership and motivational skills.
“George has been on our radar for a long while and when the opportunity arose to secure him on loan we had absolutely no hesitation.”
On his way out of Brentford is striker Antonio German after a fee was agreed with newly promoted Gillingham, who he spent time with on loan last season.
