Crystal Palace look set to rebrand their stadium this season with an online betting company.

Online betting company 12Bet.com have been heavily linked with buying the naming rights for Selhurst Park.

It could see the ground renamed as the 12Bet Stadium.

The deal has not been finalised yet but the club believes getting money in to pay for stadium improvements can only be a good thing.

Co-Chairman Steve Parish is behind the potential deal.

Fans have taken to social media and online forums to debate the merits of renaming Selhurst Park.

On twitter, @HLTCO, which is the Hopkin Looking To Curl One blog, said: “The 12Bet Stadium? I couldn't care less how much money that's bringing in, I am not having it.”

Croydon Guardian columnist Matthew Woosnam posted on Crystal Palace fans forum cpfc.org and said in one post: “Selling the naming rights to our stadium is one step where it shows that Crystal Palace Football Club cares more about money than it does about culture, history and character. Of course we need to modernise, but there are ways and means to go about that which are not so crass.”

Gazza2 said on the forum: “Been going to SP for almost 40 years. No big issue for me. New name will only be temporary. Necessary revenue generating opportunity for smaller club trying to compete with the big boys.”
