Quins director of rugby Conor O'Shea has no concerns about the form of fly half Nick Evans and has backed his men to get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

The 33-year-old landed only two of his six penalty attempts last Friday as his side crashed 13-6 to Northampton Saints in monsoon conditions.

It followed his off-day with the boot in perfect conditions at Twickenham six days earlier, although on that occasion O'Shea's men squeaked a narrow win over Wasps.

But the Stoop chief is not worried and is confident there are signs the bounce of the ball will go his side's way more often than not this term.

"We had chances to score tries on Friday, so it was not all about the kicking," he said.

"Sometimes you get the bounce of the ball and sometimes you don't. It was not a train smash.

"We just did not take our chances. You cannot keep on not taking chances when you are on top in the game.

"Nick's game management was magnificent.  One of the best he has had from that perspective.

"If we keep playing like we did against Saints, we'll win plenty of games this season. We just have to take our chances.

"This league season is so long you have to keep very level headed about everything."

Quins travel to Worcester Warrirors on Friday - the scene of their LV= Cup final triumph over Sale Sharks last season - with O'Shea expecting a tough test.

"The forecast looks good, so hopefully it will be nice in September for a change," he added.

"They are a different side to last year and their back three are very dangerous.

"Dean Ryan is already doing a good job down there and has a strong coaching set up. It is brilliant to have him back in the game.

"I've not been coached by him, but I understand his sessions are very intense and he is always great company off the pitch."
