Sutton United sit fourth in the Skrill South table after mid-week results saw Bishop’s Stortford climb above them and Bromley into second.
United’s 1-0 win over Bromley on Saturday at Gander Green Lane, in front of almost 900 fans, continued an impressive run of 10 games without defeat, six consecutive victories and six consecutive clean sheets.
Boss Paul Doswell said: “I always knew we were capable of going on this run, but I have to give the credit to the players and the coaches.
“Steve [McKimm] and Paul [Telfer] rarely get mentioned but they have worked so hard with the players, instilling into them our philosophy of playing high up the pitch.
“And the players are buying into it, and they are working their socks off in training.”
He added: “There is never any moaning in training, and confidence is high.
“Look at Mitchell Nelson, he started the season slowly because he was low on confidence, but now he has been putting in man of the match performances, week in, week out.”
