Police have confirmed that Crystal Palace’s game against Tottenham Hotspur will go ahead as planned on Saturday.

There were reports the game might be called off due to a vigil being held outside Tottenham police station tomorrow at 2pm by supporters of Mark Duggan.

But a Met Police spokesman said the game will go ahead, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm at White Hart Lane.

Mr Duggan was shot dead by armed police officers in August 2011 which sparked riots in Tottenham which then spread across to not only Croydon but a number of other cities in England.

Earlier this week the inquest into his death finished with a jury returning a verdict of lawful killing, causing angry scenes outside court.
