YANNICK Bolasie claimed Crystal Palace’s players would not be fazed by going bottom of the Premier League after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Spurs.

The Eagles were unable to capitalise on an impressive first half display at White Hart Lane, with Jason Puncheon’s early penalty miss proving very costly as second half strikes from Christian Eriksen and Jermain Defoe left the Eagles propping up the table.

They were overtaken by fellow strugglers West Ham and Sunderland who both won away from home, but Bolasie knows there is still a long way to go.

He said: “I don’t think that’s going to affect anything.

“We’ve always said it’s a mini-league with the teams around us.

“Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal – these teams you come to looking to get something and you enjoy the day.

“Unfortunately today when we should have had at least a point, we have come out with nothing again but we will look forward to playing the next game which is at home to Stoke.”

Saturday’s home meeting with the Potters promises to be a spicy encounter, with Selhurst boss Tony Pulis facing his former club for the first time since his summer exit from the Britannia.

Bolasie added: “It’s the same for players – you play against your old club and you want to beat them so I’m sure the gaffer’s going to be fired up for that one, especially the fact that it’s at home.”
