With three of the Surrey senior men's title-winning team missing from the line-up, Hercules Wimbledon finished down the field in the third of this season's 2XU Surrey Men's League meetings on a mud-covered Wimbledon Common.

The squad were led home by Fred Slemeck, who missed the Surrey championship, in ninth of 246 runners in 30:41.

Ben Toomer, who headed the Surrey gold medal-winning team, was 22nd in 31:20, Jonathan Cornish 33rd in 31:56, Joe Clark 34th in 31:58, Matt Sharp 37th in 32:02 and Rob Tuer 51st in 32:40.

Hyde was runner-up in the U17 race in 13:56, while Gibbons was second U15 finisher in 14:21. Oscar White had another good run taking third place in the U13 race in 16:11.
