Crystal Palace boss: If we don't take our chances in front of goal, it could be Premier League curtains
Tony Pulis believes Crystal Palace need to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to avoid relegation this season – starting against Chelsea this weekend.
Palace have scored just 19 goals this season – seven fewer than any other team in the Premier League – and only one in their past five games.
And Pulis, who has revealed he will again be without Marouane Chamakh this weekend, feels it is not creating the opportunities that is the problem, but scoring them.
“We need goals not just from forwards but from everyone in the team - we are creating chances, we’ve just got to take them,” he said.
“It is about confidence and a little bit of good fortune - we need that break."
He added: “We have had really good moments in games and we did at Newcastle but in those moments when you get the chances you have got to take them.
“When we have our good moments in games we’ve got to be more clinical.”
It looks a tough task against Chelsea this weekend with Jose Mourinho’s table-topping Blues having conceded just 23 goals all season - the best defensive record in the league.
