Tony Pulis is not "too worried" about pre-season results even though his Eagles made a statement of intent last night beating GAK Graz 13-1 in Austria.
Stephen Dobbie weighed in with four strikes, Glenn Murray and Jonny Williams each bagged a brace, while Joe Ledley, Yannick Bolasie, Jake Gray, Jerome Thomas and Marouane Chamakh also got on the scoresheet.
Pulis told the club's website: “It wasn’t really about the result – it was about the players putting in the effort.
“The lads worked hard this morning, they’ve worked hard for a week, so they’ll have been pleased to get the ball out and get playing football again."
Next up for Palace is a three-match tour of the US, which opens at Columbus Crew in Ohio.
Pulis said: “We’ll have three tough games over there.
"The conditions will be very difficult as well – it will be very hot and very humid, so again I won’t be too worried about results, just giving the players 90 minutes and getting that fitness into them as much as anything else.”
Goals, goals, goals: GAK Graz 1 v 13 Palace
