Whyteleafe arrested a run of three league games without a win coming from behind to win 3-2 at Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.

The three points lifted Leafe to fourth in the Ryman Division One South, while the Robins dropped to 15th.

Leafe had the best of the opening exchanges and in the third minute Roscoe DSane shrugged off the attention of two defenders to find himself with just Jack Eden in the Carshalton goal to beat, but he pulled his shot wide of the target.

Another great chance came in the sixth minute - Jason Henry, who had a lively debut on the wing against his former club, made a good run down the right, and his cross picked out Greg Andrews in the box, but his shot was blocked by a defender.

DSane managed to win the ball off a defender near the corner flag in the 15th minute, he put the ball back to Nathan Simpson whose cross was met in the air by Henry, but his header was straight at Eden.

DSane was involved again in the 23rd minute when he won the ball in the box, laid it off to Ryan Fowler who crossed to Andrews, but his shot was inches wide of the target.

Carshalton had their first good chance in the 25th minute when a Sean O’Toole pass split the defence and sent Michael Campbell clear, and his shot forced a good save from Sheikh Ceesay.

Two minutes later Brendan Murphy-McVey found Campbell in the box, this time his shot was blocked by Louis Hollingsworth, coming back to Murphy-McVey, who found Jorden Higgs on the edge of the box, and his well struck shot beat the diving Ceesay and found the back of the net.

The visitors got a deserved equaliser in the 35th minute when a deep Andrews’ corner was knocked back into the danger area by Dylan Merchant for Bentley Graham to fire home.

Leafe got off to the perfect start in the second half, when DSane glanced Jason Thompson’s corner past Eden for his fourth goal of the season.

The Robins were level moments later through Campbell’s deft chip over the advancing Cessay.

The winning goal came in the 75th minute and fittingly went to man of the match DSane with what was very much a solo effort.

The former AFC Wimbledon man picked the ball up near the half way line, ran at the Carshalton defence beating two players in the process, before slotting the ball past Eden and into the net.

Carshalton sub Mathew Males had a golden opportunity to level the game in the 77th minute but shot over an open goal, and the visitors stayed strong to take all three points back to Church Road.

Tomorrow night [Tuesday] Carshalton host Chipstead, while Leafe travel to Hythe Town.
