Battersea’s Bradley “Super” Skeete is ready to strip champion Frankie Gavin of his British welterweight belt when the pair meet at ExCeL London tonight.

The pair lock horns on the undercard of the Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury British and European heavyweight title encounter.

Last time out, the 26-year-old former Earlsfield ABC representative halted Brazilian Leandro Mendes Pinto in two rounds to post his 18th straight professional success.

Meanwhile the more experienced Birmingham based Gavin, 29, bounced back from his European title defeat to Sierra Leone’s Leonard Bundu in August with a two-round stoppage over Mate Hornyak in Wolverhampton six weeks ago.

But Skeete feels the time is right to win the British title.

He said: “This is the biggest fight of my life. We’ve got some great sparring in and I hope this all pays off.

“Everything is coming together, my confidence is high and riding on the crest of the wave at the minute and it’s going to continue.

“I told Frankie Gavin at the press conference that I want this fight, I’m not wasting anyone’s time, I’m mandatory and mandatory for a reason, I’m coming to win.

“The way things have planned out has been good, I’ve had the right fights at the right time.

“I’ve won the English Masters title, Southern area title and English title. Now it’s time to get that British title.

“I know I’ve prepared right and I’m coming to win.”

He added: “Gavin’s going to come to London and out of his comfort zone. He’s going to come in at a very hostile crowd with all that London support.

“Saturday’s going to be a night to remember and I can’t wait to bring that British and Commonwealth title home.”
