Alan Pardew reckons his Eagles are under less pressure than Queens Park Rangers ahead of tomorrow's London derby at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace are 12th in the Premier League and eight points above the relegation zone with 10 games left in the season.

QPR are 18th and three points from safety, and while Pardew acknowledges his side are not safe yet, he says their opponents will be more desperate for points.

“It is an important game, probably more important for QPR than us looking at where they are,” he said.

“The three teams down at the bottom really need a quick win so it’s a huge game for them. It is probably a must win.

“For us, we need to just get enough points and pick up wins when we can. We have a cushion from being home so we need to make sure we are at our best.”

QPR have picked up just three points in five matches since Chris Ramsey took charge of the club, but Pardew says they have progressed under their new boss.

“I’m pleased for Chris, I hope he does well He’s done a terrific job so far because that QPR team has improved under him,” he said.

Meanwhile Palace have continued to struggle at home this season, having failed to win in their last four matches at Selhurst Park.

Struggle: Palace's home form has not been great picking up one point from the past four games

Their last win in south east London came against Tottenham in Pardew’s first Premier League game in charge and he feels his side must start picking up victories at home in order to please their supporters.

“We obviously need to improve that. We owe it to our fans, our paying customers,” he said.

“Winning is how you keep your home fans turning up every week and quite frankly our home form from the start of the season hasn’t been good enough.”
