Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew knows what to expect from West Bromwich Albion this weekend, it is just a question of overcoming it.

Last season, Tony Pulis returned to Selhurst Park with his Baggies and took all the points from a 2-0 win.

It ended a run of four Premier League wins on the bounce for the Eagles, and started a run of four defeats.

Pardew said: “Tony [Pulis] knows a good portion of our squad and he knows me well. He knows I will try to attack him, his gameplan will be to stop us.

“Last year they deservedly won here, their gameplan was good. It will be tough, they have some good, experienced players.

Palace defender upbeat after Watford clean sheet

Pardew urges Palace to kick on ahead of Baggies clash

“They're very organised and disciplined. The whole team has to defend, that's a requirement under Tony.”

To make matters worse, Pardew remains with Connor Wickham, Joel Ward, Mile Jedinak and Damien Delaney.

However, after last weekend’s win at Watford, Pardew is putting his faith in striker Dwight Gayle.

He said: “We want to boss games. I don't think we get enough credit for the Watford win. No one had scored or won there, we did both.

“I was very impressed with Dwight. If he'd scored those two goals he'd have been man of the match.

“He'll play on Saturday and hopefully score.”
