AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown has completed a double swoop after rubber-stamping the signing of defender Jason Goodliffe from Rushden & Diamonds and landing young Stevenage Borough midfielder Sam Hatton.

As expected veteran defender Goodliffe has put pen to paper on a deal to bring him to Kingsmeadow while 19-year-old Hatton, who is a product of Stevenage's academy, has also signed a deal that will see him playing in a Dons shirt this season.

Goodliffe and Hatton join Brown's first signing Marcus Gayle to the club as the new manager moulds a squad he hopes can win promotion next season.

Brown confirmed: "We've signed Jason after ongoing talks and we are delighted to have him on board because he will bring some great experience to our back four.

"We've also signed Hatton who is a tall, young, very skilful central midfielder. He will need to fight for his place, but he is very comfortable on the ball and has a good engine. To be honest I'm amazed Stevenage have let him go."

Brown also confirmed that right-back Simon Sweeney has committed his future for the club and will remain at the Dons next season.
