Jason Puncheon will open the Crystal Palace Beer Festival on Saturday, one week after the Eagles lost the FA Cup to Manchester United.

The festival, now in its sixth year, showcases beers, ales and ciders from all over the country, including the Cronx Brewery in Croydon.

It is taking place on Saturday May 28 in the Holmesdale Road stand at Selhurst Park from 12pm-7pm and will also include live music and entertainment from local bands.

Tickets are still available for the event and cost £10 in advance from www.cpfctickets.com or by calling 08712 000071. Tickets will be also on sale on the day for £15.

Everyone who attends the festival will receive a commemorative glass and there will be a chance to meet Puncheon, who came off the bench at Wembley to hit the spectacular opening goal before Palace were beaten 2-1 in extra-time by Man United.

A new addition to the festival is a special preview evening, which is being held on Friday May 27th from 6pm-10pm and includes a special tasting session, food reception and commemorative tankard.

Tickets cost £30, or £35 for a weekend pass to both the preview evening and the festival.

Featured beers at the festival include Partizan, Fourpure, Beavertown, Brew by Numbers on keg. Cask beers include Palace Ale, Gipsy Hill, Belleville, Hackney, Brixton, Redemption, East London and Southwark.

Crystal Palace supports independent brewers in south London and the Cronx Brewery, whose beers are sold on match day at Selhurst Park, will be showcasing some special festival specials as well as bringing old favourites, such as Kotchin, Nektar and Entire.
