Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer has issued a hands-off warning to Premier League clubs over Christian Benteke.

Chelsea and Everton are believed to be chasing the Belgium striker, who scored 17 goals in his debut season at Selhurst Park.

But De Boer is desperate to keep the man who cost the Eagles £27m last summer.

He said: “He's happy here and we really want him to stay.

“He made a great impact last season, especially in the second half of the season, and he is crucial to us and we don't want to sell him.”

Palace have already fended off strong Tottenham and Arsenal interest in Wilfried Zaha after the winger signed new and improved terms in May.

And they could look to do the same with Benteke, who is continuously being linked with Premier League and overseas clubs.
