Chelsea are considering a shock move for out-of-form Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke.

The Belgium international has scored just once this season for the Eagles.

And despite boss Roy Hodgson’s patience wearing thin, Palace will not let Benteke leave without signing replacements. He is the club’s only senior striker.

The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are keeping an eye on Benteke and veteran forward Peter Crouch.

The Eagles have been linked with moves for West Ham’s Diafra Sakho and Fiorentina’s Khouma Babacar this month.

And if Palace were able to sign two strikers, they could be open to letting Benteke, who joined for £30m in 2016, leave Selhurst Park.

Chelsea want cover for Alvaro Morata with back-up striker Michy Batshuayi likely to join Sevilla on loan.
