Crystal Palace will feel aggrieved not to have claimed at least a point against promotion-chasing Cardiff City as they lost 2-0 in a match that saw both managers sent off.

The Eagles were second best early on and Cardiff deservedly took the lead when Nathaniel Clyne brought Joe Ledley down in the box and Ross McCormack sent Julian Speroni the wrong way.

Stuart Taylor had to save well from Victor Moses and Shefki Kuqi dragged his shot wide as Palace come back into the game before the main talking point of the match on the stroke of half time.

Dave Jones, incensed by a challenge from Claude Davis that saw Roger Johnson substituted, confronted the big Jamaican as the players headed towards the tunnel and an almighty scuffle ensued.

Although Warnock seemed to keep away from the action both managers did not reappear after the break.

Palace had more of the play second half but failed to find the breakthrough they needed and McCormack grabbed his second in injury time.
