Luke Moore reveals that a half-time blast from boss Terry Brown was the key to Tuesday night’s stirring FA Cup success.

Outplayed by visitors Crawley Town and down to ten men after the dismissal of Derek Duncan, the Dons were staring a cup exit in the face.

But second half strikes from Moore and Danny Kedwell added to Jon Main’s opener eased Wimbledon to a 3-1 win and an attractive First Round clash with Millwall at the New Den.

Moore said: “We came off at half-time and the boss said he would not accept us going out there already defeated and using ten men as an excuse.

“He said we had to stick together and put more effort in.

“He really got stuck into us and everybody came out fired-up for the second half.”

The Dons responded with a display that Brown described as “one of the best nights he can remember” as they finally saw off Steve Evans’ men, following Saturday’s 1-1 draw.

And Moore admitted the lure of a clash with the League One Lions was a major boost.

He added: “As soon as the draw was made the place was buzzing about Millwall and everyone was looking forward to it.

“For us to get the chance to go to a League One side and do our thing - well, there was no bigger incentive than that.

“We knew we had to get by Crawley, but now we have and I am sure they will be a lot of hype leading up to the game.”

Moore was part of the Ebbsfleet United squad that ran Crewe close in last season’s FA Cup before bowing out with a 1-0 defeat.

And the striker admits that when it comes to excitement, nothing beats the cup.

Moore added: “It is a massive deal for us and it will be a fantastic night.

“I am sure there will be a lot of Wimbledon fans there and it will be a great atmosphere.

“The FA Cup is a big priority for this club as it builds our profile and we want to do as well as we can - so we will definitely be going to Millwall looking to win.”
