Bees boss Andy Scott reckons there is still plenty of room for improvement, despite coupling a cleansheet with a victory for the first time this season at the weekend.

Goals from Charlie MacDonald and Myles Weston secured a comfortable triumph, but the Griffin Park chief reckons that is not enough if his men are serious about moving into the League One top ten.

“We’ve got to score more goals and start taking the opportunities we are creating,” he said.

“I think we can raise our game - in all areas - by another 10, 15 and probably 20 per cent.

“We are in a reasonable position to make a challenge on breaking into the top half of the table, which is the very least we deserve.

“Until we find our consistency right we are not going to do that, but we are determined to win games.”

The Bees travel to struggling Exeter City on Saturday, but Scott is hoping for a repeat of last year’s 2-0 triumph at St James Park that helped put his side on track for the League Two title.

“We had a great result there at Christmas that set us on our way and we never looked back. In many ways it was our most important result of the campaign,” he added.

“It is never easy going there at the best of times. They lost some players from last year that were always going to be difficult to replace, but they are organised and difficult to break down.”
