Hampton-based Mike Skinner was the outstanding runner of the day at the English Relays at Berry Hill, Mansfield on Saturday.
Running the second leg for Blackheath & Bromley, the UK international, starting his leg in 44th, stormed past 35 runners in clocking 14 minutes, 48 seconds – easily the fastest time of the day.
Second fastest was Twickenham-based Scott Overall, whose anchor leg time of 14:58 lifted Blackheath from seventh into the silver medal position.
St Mary’s Twickenham students Ben Lindsay (15:18) and Andy Vernon (15:21) were the members of the Aldershot, Farnham & District team which finished seventh (1:01:54).
In the women’s event, Steph Twell clocked the fastest time.
The St Mary’s Twickenham student’s 9:36 anchor leg lifted Aldershot, Farnham & District from seventh up to fourth.
