Bees boss Andy Scott insists he is not afraid to make swift changes after his side’s away day blues continued at Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

The Griffin Park chief has already threatened a mass clearout in January and was again left frustrated as his men went to sleep at free-kick to hand bottom-club Rovers a 1-0 win.

Steve Kabba heads the list of those earmarked for the exit door on a permanent basis, with a host of stars sweating on their League One futures at the club.

The Bees have conceded a succession of soft goals this season as they have struggled to build on an impressive start to the campaign that saw them unbeaten in their opening five games.

Scott, who has given his men five weeks to impress, again suggested only swift changes would ensure Brentford are not dragged into a relegation dog fight.

And after watching his men follow up an encouraging 1-0 win over Colchester United with another abject performance on the road, he insists it is time for defensive lapses to stop.

“We’re looking at the squad all the time and who can do it and who can’t. Obviously there will be changes. If people don’t do it and step up to the mark, they will be gone,” he said.

“I’ve never been slow to get rid of people who can’t do it, but the most disappointing thing is we had something to build on after recent performances.

“I’m flabbergasted to actually concede a goal like that. We have experienced players on the pitch and it is remarkable, remarkable, that we lost the game due to that goal. Nobody gives us goals like that.

“We should accept that isn’t right. I can’t have that at all. We’ve lost a game that should have been 0-0. We get that and it is three unbeaten on the bounce before we play Leeds.

“We’ve lost to a scrappy, shocking goal and everyone starts moaning about our performances and saying we are different away from home.

“We’re not different away from home. We’ve just conceded poor goals we should never be conceding. I wouldn’t read too much into it.”
