Striders finished fifth out of nine clubs in their Surrey Cross Country League Division Two match on Saturday.

They were led home by Lee Flanagan, who ran a well-judged race to finish ninth of the 181 runners, completing the five mile course in 27 minutes, 37 seconds.

Helen Furze finished 25th out of 195 finishers in the women’s Division One race at Dorking, covering the undulating 6km course in 24:47. However they finished last of the 15 Division One clubs, with Striders B 12th in their category.
