Bees boss Andy Scott has challenged fit again winger Myles Weston to perform from the first whistle to the last - with a little help from his friends.

The former Notts County flyer laid on Gary Alexander’s equaliser in Monday’s 1-1 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy draw with Exeter City after Nicky Forster had forced a mistake from Grecians keeper Paul Jones.

But the Griffin Park chief insists that is not good enough from the 22-year-old, who is attracting interest from Sheffield Wednesday, and it is up to his team-mates to help make him one of League One’s most potent threats.

“With Myles you want to see him doing it from the word go,” he said.

“He has got amazing ability, good energy, takes people on and scares the life out of people, but he has got to do it from the start.

“If he does that he’ll be a hell of a player, but it takes the rest of the team to get him the ball and it takes his movement to be better.

“We need to play better as a team for everybody to get the best out of themselves. If each and everyone of us is not playing to our potential it doesn’t work.”
