Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea reckons hooker Chris Brooker can only get better after the former Bath man committed his future to the club until June 2013.

The 24-year-old, who has made 56 appearances for Quins, is an established member of Conor O’Shea’s match day squad in a front row that boasts young quality props like Joe Marler and James Johnston.

And O'Shea believes Brooker has the potential to go further than the England Saxons and U21 honours he already has under his belt.

“We are delighted that Chris has committed to us and at 24 he is just going to get better and better," he said.

"He fits the profile of the type of player and person we want at this club and I am sure he will be ambitious to succeed both with Quins and also to push on and add to his Saxons honours at a higher level.”

Quins haver a fast growing reputation for producing young, England qualified talent and Brooker is delighted to be part of the club's long-term plans.

"There are so many young, English players that are coming through the academy and challenging for our first team places that there is no doubt there are exciting times ahead for Quins," he added.
