Returning fly-half Nick Evans is optimistic about the next three weeks that will determine Harlequins' future.

The New Zealander recorded 100 per cent accuracy with his kicking in last Friday's 32-22 Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final win over London Wasps, only his second game since returning from a broken hand.

Quins travel to Bath Rugby in the Premiership tomorrow knowing victory will give them a healthy gap to Bath in seventh and go a long way to securing European rugby for another season.

With their European semi-final against Munster in Ireland scheduled for April 30, it promises to be an exciting end to the season for Quins and Evans.

"Reaching a European semi-final is something the team has not done for a while," said the 30 year-old.

"So it was very important to win that game last Friday as both teams' seasons were hanging on that match and now we have a very exciting three weeks coming up which we are all looking forward to.

"We focus now on the Premiership as what we do in the next couple of weeks, whether we stay in the top six or not, will have a bearing on the next 12 months.

"Bath have been on good form of late so it is going to be tough down there but we know if we put in the effort like we did last Friday we have a chance.

"Personally, it is good to be back for the end of season as this is when you want to be playing your rugby.

"They are big games and have a bearing on next year and we want to be playing in Europe."

Danny Care and Maurie Fa'asavalu scored early tries against Wasps with Evans adding five penalties, two conversions and one drop goal with unerring accuracy to end what has been a frustrating six weeks for him since breaking his hand in training.

"It was frustrating to be out and watching the team, especially as we had been on that good run," he said.

"I felt I was playing really well and it stalled everything and you go back to where you were in pre-season.

"But the positive was it gave me a bit of a break and got my niggles right as I think I had played 20 games in a row so I was getting a bit tired.

"I came back against Leicester and missed a few but I have got the rhythm back now and I needed to pay back the hard work the forwards were doing.

"We all always try for 100 per cent, it doesn't happen all the time but it is something that we strive for.

"Once you get in a good rhythm the ball comes off the boot nicely."

Quins' remaining games: Apr 16 Bath Rugby (a), 24 Leeds Carnegie (a), 30 Munster (Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final, a), May 7 Saracens (h).
