Bollywood legend Abhishek Bachchan has once again thrown his support behind Chelsea Football Club’s Search for an Asian Star.
Chelsea fan Bachchan is urging the parents of young players from the U9 to U12 age groups to sign up to the programme, which is giving a much needed boost to Asian participation rates in our national game.
The actor welcomed the initiative: "Once again my own club Chelsea is leading the way in getting more young Asian players into the game. I’m proud of what we are achieving and happy to support this fantastic campaign. If you’re a player or a parent of a young footballer, sign up and get involved and give Asian football a boost"
Around 400 young players will undergo a series of skills tests and take part in matches on Saturday 7 May at Chelsea’s training ground in Cobham, Surrey. One winner from each of the age groups will go forward to the world famous Chelsea Academy and take part in their summer trials. Chelsea will also be inviting scouts and officials from professional and local clubs to assess the talent on show.
