Hill: The team is frustrated because the Richmond standard is so high

It’s all right lads: Richmond’s Steve Hill sees the positive side of frustration
Richmond’s director of rugby Steve Hill is revelling in his team’s frustration at not picking up an extra four-try bonus point from their 30-10 win over Cambridge.
Two penalty tries, and one from debutant Dave O’Brien, had Richmond on the fringes of a point that would have lifted them from ninth to eighth in the National League One table.
However, Cambridge offered stiff resistance in the final moments, leaving Hill pleased with his team’s disappointment.
He said: “I know the players will be frustrated we did not get the extra four-try bonus point but that illustrates the standards the squad sets itself.
“Those standards are high, and that is testament to the lads’ commitment to the cause.”
He added: “I was really impressed with our performance in the tight today. Our front five were exceptional and today’s win was based on that.”
Louis Grimoldby kicked three penalties and a conversion to complete Richmond’s first win for three games, a game which also saw a debut for Ryan Brend.
Richmond travel to Coventry, a team just one point ahead of them, this weekend.
