YOUNGSTER Sullay Kaikai is set to travel with Crystal Palace’s squad to Saturday’s Premier League game at Norwich after scoring a hat-trick for the U21s earlier this week.

The 18-year-old winger caught new manager Tony Pulis’ eye with his treble in the behind closed doors friendly win over Spurs and has quickly been rewarded with a place on the team bus for this weekend’s top flight encounter with the Canaries.

And the new manager firmly believes if youngsters are good enough to mix it with the senior squad then they will get the opportunity to do so - a challenge which Kaikai has clearly already risen to.

Pulis said: “Because Palace have got a fantastic reputation in respect of their academy it doesn’t mean automatically you are going to play those players.

“Those players then have to prove they are good enough and to do that they have to do it in the teams below.

“We had a young lad who scored a hat-trick against Tottenham this week in the U21s and we will be taking him to Norwich.

“We’ve got him involved in the group and they (kids) will be rewarded.

“I’m hoping and praying we’ve got two or three gems in that group who will come and help us.”
