Herne Hill Harriers’ youngsters continued their fine early winter form over cross country this weekend.

At Bristol in the UK Cross Challenge U13 girls’ race, Katy-Ann McDonald recorded a fine win by a margin of four seconds in the first race in this prestigious series.

At the Surrey young athletes cross-country relays at Stoke Park, Guildford, the U15 boys’ team of Ed Olsen, Paul Burgess and Billy Black won gold medals with Olsen fastest leg overall, while the U15 girls of Francesca Reid-Lloyd, Breagha Campbell and Alice Setyabule won team silver.

The U13 girls of Hebe Morley Fletcher, Saskia Millard and Eimear Griffin won bronze, with Millard as the fastest individual.

Harriers also hosted the Emer Casey Memorial 10k road race in Brockwell Park, where Nikki Sturzaker won the women's race. Thanks to Nicky St. Clair taking third place, Herne Hill Harriers took the women's team win.

The club’s men also won the team race, led home by 15-year-old Lascelles Hussey in fourth.
