Two Croydon Harriers represented Surrey Schools at the English Schools Championships in Blackburn on Saturday.
Stevie Lawrence, who was captain of the near-50 strong squad, finished 56th in the senior girls' 4.3km race in 17 minutes 33 seconds. There were 300 finishers.
As fourth Surrey counter, she helped the county to team silver on the day in the six-to-score race, and they also won the eight-to-score contest.
In the inter boys' category, late pick Omar Harhara repaid the selector’s faith finishing as fifth Surrey scorer and placed 162nd out of 335 competitors. He helped the county finish 15th out of the 44 competing Counties.

At the Downs League at Epsom Downs, Jessica Moore secured the U15 girls' overall league title with a narrow victory in the league’s climax on Sunday. Kyra Sethna-McIntosh, Megan Driver and Leanne Moore were also in action.
In parkrun action, there were two Croydon wins on Saturday thanks to Glenn Barden and Jake English.
Barden set the course record at a new event in South Oxhey in Watford in 18:43.
English meanwhile triumphed at Peckham Rye in 17:17.
Mark Lynch was fifth at Lloyd Park, and Anna Corby was third in the women’s category with 18 Harriers competing across different parkrun events.
