Peter Chambers got Croydon Harriers’ East Surrey League campaign off to a flying start with an emphatic victory in Lloyd Park, writes Matthew Kiernan.
The 14-year-old led from start to finish over the undulating two-mile course, crossing the line in 12 minutes 10 seconds – 13 seconds clear of his nearest rival.
With Mark Plackett fifth (13:00) and Patrick Lucas seventh (13:07), Harriers topped the team standings.
Harriers were third in the U13 race with Kartick Iyer sixth (15:24), Luke Baker seventh (15:49) and Stirling Gibbons 12th (16:32).
