Tremendous Tremayne


Mitcham-based Tremayne Gilling continued his impressive season when he won the McCain Challenge Final 100m at Cardiff in 10.71 seconds.

It was the latest win for Gilling, the England, South of England and British Universities 100m champion.

Sutton & District’s Joe Lawrence once again imp- roved on his personal best in finishing fifth in the triple jump with 15.11m.

Clubmate Sarah Wellstead was third in the women’s long jump with 6.06m.

Belgrave’s Matt Richards was sixth in the hammer with 59.78m.

St Mary’s Twickenham student Carl Bradbury clocked a personal best 3:55.05 in winning his 1,500m race at the British Milers Club’s Nike Grand Prix meeting in Cardiff on Saturday.

Herne Hill’s Jon Henderson also improved on his best time in finishing third in 3:57.02.

Another St Mary’s student to post a lifetime best was Laura Parker, who won the 3,000m steeplechase in 10:20.88.

Belgrave’s Simon Jones clocked a season’s best of 14:23.95 in finishing fifth in the 5,000m.

St Mary’s Neil Phillips also clocked a season’s best (14:55.78) in finishing 10th.

Clapham Chasers’ Justina Heslop was fourth in her 5,000m race in 16:00.3.
