Sutton Runners and Collingwood AC both sent men’s teams to the English National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill Fields on Saturday.
Neither team managed to trouble the higher ends of the field though as Sutton came 77th out of 125 and Collingwood 101st in the 12km event.
Martin Giles was Sutton’s first finisher in 487th in 45 minutes, 24 seconds, with Robert Knight first home for Collingwood in 808th in 49:08 in the 1,688-strong field.
Collingwood also had three runners in the ladies’ 8km race, with Melanie Ross the best of those in 494th in 42:33.
