Tue 10th May THAMES VALLEY LEAGUE ASHFORD 4pts v STANWELL 4pts Ashford have not had much luck at Stanwell over the last couple of seasons and were again thwarted by injury as happened in the same fixture last year. One of Ashfords players aggravated a previous shoulder injury and although he bravely continued was unable to help his side at all. The two games at Stanwell resulted in a 1 shot win and a 7 shot win to give them 4 points.However Ashford won the two games played at Ashford by 2 shots and 28 shots to get their 4 points.

Cheam bowlers make bright start

It was sunshine all the way – well, almost - for Cheam in the opening friendly matches of the 2011 bowls season. A confident 22 shot victory over Malden Manor was followed by a 37 shot win at Dorking. But it all came just a little unstuck in the mixed match against Wallington, the visitors scraping home by two shots.
