FORDBRIDGE MIXED LEAGUE

ISLEWORTH 8pts v ASHFORD 2pts

Isleworth won three triples to Ashfords one triple. At the halfway stage Isleworth were in control and well ahead on three of the triples but trailing on the other. One of Ashfords losing triples put up a great recovery and almost stole a second win but unfortunately just failed to catch their opponents. Ashfords winning triple were Jayne Foster, Ian Ford and Matt Larman with a 23 - 13 score.

MIDWEEK MENS MATCH

ASHFORD 80 v ESHER 91

The two sides were pretty closely matched with two rink wins each and one rink drawing. However Esher emerged as overall winners with the higher score by eleven shots. Halfway through the game Ashford were ahead by sixteen shots and then collapsed dramatically to let the visitors win. Ashfords top scorers were Sam Wilson, Sid Brittin and George Aylott with a 20 - 18 win.

BOWLS ENGLAND TWO FOURS COMPETITION

ASHFORD v PARSONS GREEN

Ashford bowed out of this years competition to a much stronger side who gave hardly anything away and bowled superiorly all through the game.

M.C.B.A. DOUBLE RINK COMPETITION

ASHFORD v CAMBRIDGE PARK

Ashford went out of another competition in two days. The home team won their match but the away team lost theirs by a few more shots, giving Cambridge Park the overall win

RICHMOND,BARNES & DISTRICT B.A. LEAGUE

ASHFORD 3pts v N.P.L. 1pt

The Ashford men recovered from the previous two days and put in a pretty good performance to win this league match. At the half way stage one rink was drawing, one rink winning and one rink losing, with NPL being ahead by seven shots and looking like winning the match. Ashford played much better after that and although the losing rink were too far adrift to win, the other two rinks gained impressive wins to claim two points for two wins and another point for the overall score of 65 - 59. Ashfords top rink were Ashley Tanner, John Evans, George Aylott and Wally Cox with their 27 - 19 win.

MIXED MATCH ASHFORD 95 v CHERTSEY 97

Ashford started well taking an early lead but Chertsey fought back to be six shots ahead at the half way point. During the rest of the match the teams battled hard and as much as Ashford tried to win they could only cut the deficit to two shots which gave Chertsey the win. Top scorers for Ashford were Aileen Anderson, Freda Stroude, Ashley Tanner and Colin Staples with a 25 - 7 victory.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY WOMENS TRIPLES COMPETITION

Ashford Ladies have two triples entries through to the fourth round of this competition. Wendy Bayley, Liz Dutton and June Goulds won their third round tie and Sally Woodhead, Carol Stedman and Jean Webber had a bye from the third round.

MIDDLESEX COUNTY WOMENS FOURS COMPETITION

Ashford Ladies have one of their fours successfully through to the quarter-finals. Aileen Anderson, Sally Woodhead, Carol Stedman and Jean Webber will be playing at Holtwhites BC.
