Teddington skipper James Keightley got the better of Richmond counterpart Alex Griffiths to put the skids under the latter’s Middlesex County League Premier Division title hopes on Saturday.
Griffiths unbeaten 71 in the face of 4--35 from James Ladd-Gibbon and 4-42 from Sachin Mylavarapu – glued together by Keightley’s miserly 1-16 from 12 overs – was the only resistance as Richmond posted 157 all out at Old Deer Park.
Keightley then thrashed 60 as Teddington cruised to an eight-wicket win.
St Mary’s University first team captain Joe Sexton made light of his late call-up to notch 55 on his Twickenham top flight debut against Ealing on the Green.
Sexton was drafted in for virus victim Leo Carter and his efforts helped skipper Carlos Nunes’ men to 197 all out, before Chris Wakefield (84*) and Ahmad Elech (51) eased Ealing to the win.
Richmond remain top of the table – 10 points ahead of second-placed North Middlesex - while Teddington are 10 points clear of the drop zone.
FIXTURES: Hampstead v Twickenham, Finchley v Richmond, Teddington v Indian Gymkhana.
