Evans ton boosts Ashford

A superb hundred by Chris Evans steered Ashford to their first win of the season in the Surrey Championship League Division Four at Churt on Saturday.

Having allowed the home side to amass 209-9 in 41.4 overs on a spiteful wicket, Ashford soon took control, thanks to Evans' match-winning 104 not out.

Enroute to his total, Evans passed the landmark of 17,000 runs in league competition, a total which includes more than 60 other tons for Ashford.

Playing good support roles to Evans, Ashford's middle order were in control of the Churt attack.

Next Saturday, Ashford play host to Woking and Horsell at Short Lane, starting at 1pm.
