I AM sure all your readers are aware that the Prime Minister has spectacularly failed to keep his promise "that by 2001 everyone would have access to an NHS dentist".

MP Anne Snelgrove appears unable or unwilling to explain why he has woefully let down a generation of people in this way, so perhaps she can offer an explanation for another failed pledge.

Ten years ago Tony Blair promised to "make the NHS a public service, not a commercial business driven by competition".

How hollow that sounds when even the Trade Union movement is aghast at the decision to contract NHS logistics to DHL, a business driven by competition.

Perhaps Mrs Snelgrove can reflect on yet another broken promise and explain just why we should trust Tony Blair.

More importantly can she offer the slightest crumb of hope that the Prime Minister will keep his promise to troops in Afghanistan that he will give them whatever they need to do their job -he has even promised more helicopters.
