Julian Speroni: Wrong-footed for the goal and made an instinctive save from Jeffers to keep Palace's lead intact in the second half. 7

Nathaniel Clyne: Virtually faultless display and got forward well. Should have done better than hit the corner flag with chance just after the break. 7

Jose Fonte: Kept Tudgay quiet for the most part and made some vital interceptions and challenges. 7

Claude Davis: Almost gifted Wednesday an equaliser with poor back header and had a couple of dodgy moments but for the most part he read the game well. 6

Clint Hill: Was unluckly with the own goal and had a pretty solid game. Could have got forward more though. 6

Shaun Derry: His passing in the first half was terrible but went back to what he does best in the second, making tackles and breaking up play. 7

Johnny Ertl: You hardly notice him during the game as he doesn't do the spectacular but he gets stuck in and plays the simple passes. 7

Neil Danns: Full of energy for the first 45 minutes and ran the game in midfield, making a number of driving runs at the defence. Was a bit quieter after the break. Man of the match. 8

Darren Ambrose: Drifted in and out of the game and wasted a free kick in the first half by hitting it straight at the wall. 6

Shaun Scannell: Looked horribly short of match fitness and confidence. He was too lightweight and failed to take his chance to shine. 5

Alan Lee: Ran the line with his usual work rate and can claim assists for both goals. Gave the Wednesday defence a torrid time. 8

Subs:

Calvin Andrew (Scannell, 57): First Palace goal gave him a lot of confidence and he could barely stop smiling. 7

Alex Wynter (Ambrose, 90): Youngster got his first taste of senior football. 6

Not Used: Alassane N'Diaye, James Comley.
