Matt Lawrence and Danny Butterfield will not be offered new deals to stay at Crystal Palace.

The defenders are both out of contract this summer and new manager George Burley has decided to let the pair leave.

Butterfield was Palace's longest serving player having joined the club from Grimsby Town in 2002 and last season he scored the fastest hat-trick in the club's history when he scored three goals in six minutes against Wolves in the FA Cup.

Lawrence and Butterfield join Clint Hill, Shaun Derry and Johnny Ertl in leaving the club on free transfers this summer.

New deals have been offered to Kieron Cadagon, Kieran Djilali and Calvin Andrew, while there has been no announcement regarding Stern John or Darryl Flahavan, who are also out of contract but expected to leave.

Burley has also announced his backroom staff ahead of the beginning of pre-season training tomorrow.

Chris Short, Brian Rogers and Mateusz Bednarczuk retain their roles as fitness coach, kit manager and masseur, while former Palace player Dean Austin is named as reserve team manager, Malcolm Webster as goalkeeping coach and Alex Manos and John Stannard as the physio team.

Webster played in goal professionally for Arsenal, Fulham, Southend United and Cambridge United before working as a goalkeeping coach under Burley at Colchester United, Ipswich Town, Hearts and Southampton.

Manos was a physio at Palace a decade ago while Stannard was allowed to leave Southend United this month.
