2001 League Cup run
Palace's run to the League Cup semi-final in 2001 was a memorable one but they rode their luck.
They needed a stoppage time Andy Linighan goal against Burnley in the second round to go through on away goals and youngster Steve Kabba had to hold his nerve from the spot in a shoot out against Tranmere in the fourth round.
Premiership Sunderland were beaten 2-1 in the quarters at Selhurst Park, setting up a two-legged semi with Liverpool where goals from Andrejs Rubins and Clinton Morrison gave the Eagles a very enjoyable 2-1 win that has lived long in the memory.
Sadly, it all proved too much at Anfield and the Eagles lost 5-0.
Since then Palace have managed to get to the League Cup quarter finals once, in 2003, but have only reached the fifth round once in the FA Cup.
